Lyla Biggs-Critch - Teacher

I’ve been dancing since I was two years old, and from the moment I stepped into the studio, I knew it would always be a big part of my life! Growing up in competitive dance gave me the chance to train in a variety of styles (Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary, Open, Hip Hop) while also assisting younger classes alongside my teachers, which sparked my passion for teaching.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing with Canada’s Ballet Jörgen in The Nutcracker, Anastasia, and Anne of Green Gables, as well as background dancing for the Mini Pop Kids

Alongside performing, I’ve earned my certification as a tap instructor through ‘The Tap Dance Centre’ in Toronto and as an acro instructor through ‘Acrobatic Arts’

Beyond the studio, I also pursued my love for the arts academically by completing a college certificate in Music Industry Arts from Algonquin College. This gave me a deeper understanding of the music and entertainment industries and allowed me to connect my performance experience with the broader creative world.

Dance has shaped who I am not just as a dancer, but as a person. It has taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of community. Whether I’m on stage or in the studio, my goal is always to share that same love and passion for dance with others.
